I'm Geraint and I'm a photographer based in Cardiff, South Wales.

During the coronavirus pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns photographing people became difficult, and my studio had to close for a while. To keep myself busy photographically I discovered ink in water photography. The abstract and unpredictable nature of the genre fascinated me and I experimented for days on end with various materials and substances suspended in water.

During the pandemic I also discovered cold water therapy in the form of open water swimming, spending hours at the shore most days. I try to capture what the sea means to me in the form of fine art photography: the stillness, the calm and the constant.

As Laozi said:

"Nothing on earth is so weak and yielding as water, but for breaking down the firm and strong it has no equal."
