Frequently asked questions

How do you photograph your ink in water images?

This article on how I photograph my ink in water images gives more information, but essentially I use a fish tank, fill it with water then add inks, dyes and other substances to it. It's a messy affair but incredibly creative and enjoyable.

Why ink in water?

I had to shut my studio (I'm also a headshot photographer based in Cardiff, South Wales) for a while during the first UK lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. I was looking for a new genre of photography to keep my creativity going and stumbled upon this Fstoppers article on How to Photograph Ink and Paint in Water by Patrick Hall. I was fascinated and decided to give it a go. I became slightly obsessed with it, trying out different methods and techniques to create scenes that emulate space vistas and abstracts. The possibilities are endless and I love the abstract nature of the genre. It balances nicely with my headshots and portraiture work.

Do you take commissions?

Yes I do. If there's a particular image or colour palette that you are interested in creating please get in touch.

What kinds of products do you offer in print?

I offer my photographs as fine art prints, fine art framed prints and metal wall art. All are produced to the highest standards by a professional, specialist printing lab.

Fine art (Giclée) prints

Images are printed onto fine art, museum-grade archival paper. This is a mould-made 100% cotton heavyweight paper and has a smooth matt coating, perfect for exceptionally high quality fine art printing.

Fine art (Giclée) framed prints

The same fine art paper as above, but this time mounted inside handcrafted minimalist wooden frames, in a choice of black or white. Frames come with plexiglass, finished backing and hanging hardware, so that they arrive ready to display on your wall.

Metal prints

Images are printed in high definition onto an aluminium panel with a high gloss finish. They also come with integrated hanging hardware on the back so that they are ready to hang when they arrive. Metal prints are striking and full of impact, providing outstanding colour and detail. They're also incredibly durable, scuff-resistant and even waterproof, opening up your options for where you'd like to display them with less worry about damage or fading over time. Metal prints are show-stoppers and really need to be seen to be believed.

Do you deliver worldwide?

Yes. Prints are produced in the UK and shipped all over the world. Please add your chosen item(s) to your cart to display shipping costs to your location.
